Our Story

Built on Honesty. Proven by Results.

"Something kept pulling me toward working with my hands — solving real problems in real spaces for real people."

My name is Jesse. I studied Computer Science at Georgia Tech, moved to New York in 2016, and like a lot of people who come here, I thought I had it figured out. I worked in tech. I was good at it. But something kept pulling me toward working with my hands — solving real problems in real spaces for real people.

It started the way most things do: a neighbor needed help. A cabinet that had been broken for weeks. A landlord who wasn't coming. I fixed it in twenty minutes. The look on her face wasn't about the cabinet — it was about finally being able to trust someone to follow through.

I kept seeing that look. And I kept hearing the same stories — contractors who ghosted, overcharged, or left jobs half-finished. People who'd paid thousands for work that failed the next week. It wasn't a gap in the market. It was a failure of basic professionalism.

2020 — We Made It Official

Born in a Pandemic, Built to Last

When the pandemic hit and everyone was stuck at home, the need for reliable, in-home repairs became impossible to ignore. I got licensed. I got insured. I named the business Handy & Dandy — straightforward, like the work.

We've been at it ever since, serving homeowners and renters across Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan with the same standard we started with: show up, do it right, and treat every home like it's our own.

How We Work

The Standards We Hold Ourselves To

Reliability

We show up on time, every time. If something changes, you hear from us first.

Fully Licensed & Insured

Every job is covered. Your home is protected, and so are you.

Quality Over Speed

We don't rush. We do it right the first time so you don't have to call twice.

Locally Rooted

Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan — this is our city. We serve it like neighbors, not contractors.

We're not trying to squeeze value out of every job. We're trying to earn a place in your life — as the person you call when something breaks, when you're moving in, when you finally want to fix that thing you've been ignoring for months.

The work is how we meet. The relationship is what we're building.
